The Mammals are hybrid soft-sculpture animals constructed from wool felt, fox fur, and rabbit fur on wire frames. These characters were photographed in collaboration with Natalie Matutschovsky to illustrate scenes described in country and western songs. The exhibition comprised the sculptures and the photographs.
Viewers at the show opening engaged with the exhibition through The Mammal Judging. In this performance piece, judges and commentators selected the Best in Show mammal.
